So I remember he spoke to this female nurse in Sligo, one of the oncology nurses, and he got her to speak to me basically to say, like, I don't want you to come home because I know then it's over, you know.

Yeah.

So I was going home like on a Friday and coming back on a Monday and then I was going home on a Thursday and coming back on a Monday.

And, you know, so you were trying to do some days at home and my mum and my sister were at home and did like the heavy lifting 90% of the time.

It's a stressful time because you're checking in going, how is he now?

Yeah.

You're in two different places.

It's quite bizarre, actually.

It is very bizarre.

You're showing up and people haven't a clue what's going on.

Yeah, your home Friday, you know, your home Friday, Saturday, Sunday, back on a Monday or, you know, whatever way, maybe Thursday to Sunday or whatever way, you know, three or four days of the week, half the week maybe.

But I remember that day the oncology nurse said to me, she said, she said that the hardest thing that cancer...

The hardest thing that the families of cancer patients have to deal with is that they have to understand that a terminal diagnosis isn't about them, it's about the patient.

And I remember being wildly confused hearing that.

And she said to me, this isn't about what you want.

It's about what the patient wants.

And she said, in this case, your father is telling you absolutely come home with the weekends.

He's telling you come home on a Friday to a Monday or whatever makes, whatever you can do.

Yeah.

But he's asking you not to come home seven days a week.
