You go down, you'd open the hall door to go down the hall and like every night before bed, he'd be lying on the floor in the hallway, like as he used to say, doing his stretches, you know, doing like his sit ups and his press ups and is like probably doing to modern day standards, a level of yoga, you know, or without the actual handheld weights, just the body weight.
And he used to do that every morning and every night before work.
And we used to kind of just laugh and be like, oh, it's his dad doing his exercises, you know.
But I'm like, sometimes I'm like, geez, I didn't inherit that bit off him or my love of that.
But yeah, he was, you know, it probably was a little bit ahead of his time.
But for somebody who wasn't a drinker, and I'm not to insult anybody who isn't a drinker, not to say that you can't have fun if you don't drink, but he was...
Somebody who really enjoyed the company of drinkers, even though he didn't drink.
So he would never have had any problem, you know, being out or out at the weekend or being in our pub till late at night and being around, consumed by people that are obviously having a couple of drinks.
But he himself would sit there and, you know, enjoy the chat and the crack and the conversation.
But obviously, you know, not partake himself.
Some people need drink.
Yeah, he was somebody who didn't.
And he really, like, he very genuinely didn't, you know.
And often I would find now, like, say, sometimes people who drank and then become non-drinkers, they often find it difficult sometimes to, you know, kind of... Naturally, you get fed up or tired.
The same level of crack, really.
And to be able to tolerate, you know, people who have consumed a bit of alcohol.
But he kind of just loved...
I think he was a people person he was a real people person and I think I probably inherited that from him from what you're saying so far like you're more like him than you really are you know what I mean like even being able to talk to all sorts of different people and the public and you're not shy you're well able to talk and you know that kind of thing it's
I hope so like I more like him than you know yeah and maybe it's looking back now over time and as more time passes you kind of you like obviously when you're younger you don't realise those similarities as much you know maybe that you have with people or maybe I just only now appreciate the value of that you know but yeah
What was your favourite memory with your dad when you were younger?
