It goes back to something that Supervisor Stewart said earlier and that we've been talking about. podcast-host

The long and short of it is that back during the General Assembly session, I've talked about this before, there was a bill by Delegate McAuliffe that would have established a groundwater study for Western Loudoun and Fauquier counties. podcast-host

That bill died, but it miraculously resurrected as a budget amendment that was ultimately passed by the General Assembly. podcast-host

Now, to Supervisor Stewart's point, podcast-host

The basin and the watershed that starts in western Loudoun and Fauquier County doesn't stop at the boundary line and the county line in Prince William County. podcast-host

It flows through and to and through Prince William County to part south. podcast-host

So as we have already invested in our own groundwater study, but this DEQ one is apparently on a much accelerated and deeper timeframe. podcast-host

My ask is that we petition the governor and DEQ to be asked to be added to it. podcast-host

This actually comes as a request of the Sustainability Commission. podcast-host

They passed a resolution asking for this about two months ago. podcast-host

We're in August recess. podcast-host
