That was part of the challenge doctor Raphael Pasheco described in episode forty.
Doctor Pascheco is an associate professor and associate dean for digital technologies in the Dental College of Georgia.
In this episode, he talked about developing an AI-powered adaptive learning tool for his course.
Here he explains why he was drawn to this approach and how he thinks about using technology to guide student attention in a way that is purposeful.
What stands out there is that Dr.
Pacheco is not using technology just because it is new.
He's responding to a teaching problem that many faculty recognize.
Students come into a course with different levels of preparation.
They need feedback, but feedback takes time.
They are surrounded by digital distractions, but those same digital spaces can also be used for learning.
For some faculty though, the next question is
Where do I even begin?
That is where episode 38 comes in.
In our vibe coding episode, Arthur, Jeff, and I talked about using AI-assisted building to create interactive materials, LMS content, announcements, and other course elements through conversation with a generative AI tool.
Near the end of that episode, we discussed what small experiment faculty could try without taking on too much risk.
I I would just go back to emails and announcements, honestly.
Um that's an an easy and fun way to to get started, but there are el other elements, um, fun things you can create.
That may be the best place to start.
Not with the full course redesign, not with a complicated interactive simulation.
