Now, he's a media guy, but it was introduced through a mutual friend, Drew Chilcott, a clearance diver.

Unfortunately, he's no longer with us.

He came off his motorbike a couple of years ago.

And we sussed each other out and there was a couple of newspaper articles and it was like, oh yeah, so what?

And he said, well, how about we do a film?

Well, I don't know about that.

We discussed it and I thought, well, nobody's hearing our side of the story.

All it is is being reported.

the negative stuff we've done and actually a lot of it was essentially incorrect and defense I believe had to have a duty of care even though we're still no longer serving the stories were about what we were doing on

on duty and on operations, but being incorrectly reported.

And Defence weren't exercising that duty of care and correcting that narrative, so we thought we'll need to step up and make a film about it.

So tell our side of the story, which is what occurred.

With Wandering Warriors, ex-services organisations, they shook the can around the nation and we got

uh sponsored to do it by um donations from everybody ten dollars here yeah there was no there was there was no one big donor it was all donations from your average family of you know what a hundred you know maybe ten dollars to two hundred dollars wasn't it yeah crowdfunded yeah crowdfunded essentially that's good because you know none of the networks or streaming channels wanted to touch it of course they didn't yeah of course they didn't yeah we've actually had had little problems getting it into uh

You know, on the screenings and stuff like that.

Just a little gatekeepers thinking this is a war film.

And we actually had trouble with some ex-services clubs not wanting to screen it.

And, you know, Lismore, I think it was.

And for the reasons... What, the RSL clubs?

Yeah, not actually the RSL, it was services or leagues clubs, services clubs.
