He fought with the ANA, Afghan National Army, and he was embedded with us for 2007, 8, 9, I think into 10 years.

until the government said, no, you will partner with different forces.

And so they sent these guys back to their units.

And they're essentially Hazaran.

And because they fought with us, the Taliban within the ANA then were going to target them.

So I know one definitely died from an IED, but the others had to go on the run.

And so Asadullah, he made his way through to Indonesia.

Spent three years in jail, 11 years total in Indonesia as a refugee.

What did he spend three years in jail for?

As an illegal immigrant.
