I remember the first jump out of a caribou.

And...

being six four i can't stand up straight in one of those you've got your parachute on and it's rocking and rolling and i think i bounced off one side bounced off the other side just fell out the back i had no idea what was going on unfortunately the parachute opened yeah i said

then from there i got compassionate posting to uh one commando regiment two company in melbourne for the old man uh he's since passed away and um i broke my pelvis on a motorbike and so it took a couple years to get over that and then

Went to Timor with 4R Commando in 2001 and then did selection for SASR 2003 with Ben Robert Smith, actually.

So I did Rio, selection and Rio with him.

Yeah, he's a tough guy to keep up with because we were the two big fellas on selection.

I had to keep up with him and I was on my chin straps a lot of the time doing that.

Yeah, he's a bit younger than me too, so it's my excuse.

yeah so you so you were both at three together because he also came for three as well yeah i think we're in different companies yeah okay yeah yeah yeah okay so yeah so you got city selection there and then how many uh tours to afghan did you do or everything if you're allowed to say i think it was six six rotations in afghanistan um uh including the commando one in team what i think i said three times in timor as well

So interestingly, in 2007, I went to set the bungle in the jungle, so chanting Renato with one squadron.

I was over there for a couple of months, so January to April, and then came back to Australia.

Three squanders needed a dog handler to go to Afghanistan with them.

Picked up my new dog.

Risha was trying to eat his way through the cage.

What the hell am I going to do with this animal?

And actually, he turned out to be an amazing dog.

And the first one that made it through the program.

So, yeah, went to Afghanistan with three squadron and got over there and the OC said, I have no use for a dog handler, actually.
