Only about twenty percent of our bank's cash earnings come from Australian retail, which is the the toughest competitive area right now.
Now we we do uh um you know, we're the biggest business bank in the country.
Uh we have a terrific franchise uh with uh small and medium sized business and it's one that um we will work really, really hard to continue to grow and protect.
Um it's the flagship of our company and and something we're incredibly proud of.
You know,
So is so if business bounces bounces
Uh look, I think um as I said, I think as we get a little bit more uh optimism in the economy that will be constructive for housing.
Uh we need more housing starts.
You know, more housing means more people living in homes, which means more mortgages, which means, you know, more uh home loan credit growth.
It's our view that um SME and business lending will continue to outperform
consumer uh lending uh next year.
And so again, being more of a business bank, I think, will mean uh that hopefully we'll do relatively better than others.
Uh but you know, for us it's really about continuing to just manage the business well, uh look after customers and be there for our customers at the moments that matter to them.
And if we do that better than the other guys, we will outperform.
Right.
Yeah, it's both of those things.
It's uh it's ensuring that the processes and practices that our people are doing in the service of customers are high value and that they're additive to the customer experience uh and and also are effective in protecting customers and the bank.
And if our people are doing things that are neither additive to a customer experience or
or doing a poor job at protecting customers in the bank, we need to be questioning why we're doing 'em.
Uh and so the biggest driver of productivity is to stop doing things that are low value.
