Yeah, I'm here.
I'm really
Today's History Tidbit.
On September 24th, 2003, Professor Albert Hume published An Empire of Ice.
The pop science book, a deviation from Hume's previous hardliner academic work, was an international bestseller and is hugely influential to the modern public's understanding of the ancient harbinger civilization.
Fast forward a few millennia.
It's 2025.
Adam Blackwell and Amy Sterling are anthropology grad students at Sinclair University in Chicago.
They both want to be archaeologists specializing in the study of the harbingers.
They're both driven and highly competitive, especially towards one another.
And practically everyone around them agrees they need to either get it over with and kill one another already, or get it over with and go bang already.
Or both.
Because having to be around them is a lot.
They even go on a date once.
It goes poorly.
And unfortunately for him, so has Amy.
After Adam acquired his powers, Amy transferred to Columbia, seeking a fresh start away from her academic nemesis.
She submitted a proposal for an expedition to a ruin in Ireland, theorizing that it might hold another magic ring.
This proposal landed on the desk of Columbia's corporate sponsor, none other than billionaire Jerome Eckerberg.
Amy's theory was good.
