I have been a number of times with my family growing up when I was running for attorney general and serving many times while I've been governor.
While I won't make it this year, we are going to have both candidates for U.S.
Senate.
We're going to have multiple announced candidates on the Democratic side for governor.
And so it will be an opportunity to start hearing what people's earliest pitch is.
And then you always have to throw in, you know, one or two one liners.
But if you're doing it right, and it's always tough, if you're doing it right, you're funny, you're not mean, and it's an opportunity to actually talk about what you would do.
Well, I agree that we need to be in the same room together.
We do need to get back to a level of civility that I hope Fancy Farm will live up to this year.
Sometimes it's struggled a little bit.
It's one where, again, you can be funny.
People know that there is conflict, but you don't have to be a jerk.
And that's a problem in our politics right now.
We can argue.
We can push really hard for the things that we believe in.
But the problem with the Trump administration, one of the many, is how far they go over the line.
They try to make someone who has different political beliefs an enemy, actually calling them the enemy from within.
If you are out there running, that is patriotic in and of itself.
And trying to cast each other as anti-American, which happens in a lot of these rooms, is I think one of the reasons we don't see it as much.
I'm not going because it is my son's final travel baseball tournament of his high school career.
