He's going to play college ball, which is exciting.
That is great.
He's going to Swarthmore.
So smart kid.
We're really proud of him.
But this is my last opportunity to watch him play like this.
And I'm always going to put my family first.
Right.
And I've got an amazing family.
When people say, how do you put up with politics?
I say, I've got a wife and kids that love me and a dog that kind of likes me.
But being able to spend this last amount of time, I've got a son who's a rising senior, a daughter who's a rising junior.
So Brittany and I will be empty nesters in about two years.
And while teenagers can be difficult, I still want to spend as much time as I can before they head off.
I haven't spoken to the Senator and he has now been gone from work in a hospital for about six weeks.
And anybody out there who works a job and has a boss couldn't take six weeks off without calling that boss and saying, here's what's going on and here's when I can return to work.
Well, when you're a Senator or a Governor, your boss
are the people that elected you.
There is a duty for Senator McConnell to level with the people of Kentucky and to prove that he still has the ability to do this job.
That's not some mean thing I'm trying to press on him.
