It is the basic honesty and transparency that people deserve.

And his failure to do it has fueled this wild speculation, especially online about what's going on.

And that's on him.

Now, supposedly he's had a 17 minute conversation with one of his proteges, but he can't call a TV station and have a three minute conversation.

And that just adds more fuel to the fire.

Now, those who are saying, we don't think he has the ability to continue to serve, have been calling on me to do things that a governor

can't do, right?

If a state level officer could declare a vacancy in a federal office, then you would have seen lots of things happen in our history.

So there are three ways that a vacancy can be created based on our research.

One is a death, two is a resignation, or three is an expulsion from the Senate.

And so I've called on John Thune.

He's the majority leader.

He's got a duty to ensure that the members of his caucus have the capacity to serve, and he's right there in D.C.

He can go see Mitch McConnell.

He can report on how he's doing, and we can put all that speculation to rest.

Well, you'd have to ask those three people.

But when John Thune got a letter from me saying, it's your job to make sure that Mitch McConnell is OK and can continue to serve.

He said that's between Mitch and the people of Kentucky.

That is a concerning answer from the majority leader.
