We had our moments on the field.

But um I I wouldn't underestimate Paul's story from the side obviously there's there's a more serious side around the recession and having to leave uh private schooling and and that, but

Most of the fellas you see up here who've excelled, I wouldn't underestimate having a chip on your shoulder around something around like something not going your way when you're young is it tends to

help a lot of young professional rugby players or it it's divergent.

They go one way or the other.

But a lot of the the young lads you see now

they may be looked on from afar as like everything's gone right for them.

But you'll find if you delve one level lower, m the vast majority of them have a fair few knocks along the way.

And I think that steeliness that you see in in young professionals is is a very real thing and I encourage that kind of chip on the shoulder mentality.

It's it's it's and I mean it in a nice and respectful way.

I think it's what drives a lot of the young lads, you know?

I I would be lying if I would I w say I'm as positive as as I was a year ago, probably because looking at New Zealand and South Africa in the four match series just gone, there's a sense of the strength and depth they have, the the quality, the athleticism, the skill set.

There's a fearsome sense coming out of those two

teams that I think we've two seasons ago I think we were right up there.

I'm I sincerely hope I'm proven wrong.

I um

uh there's a sense of of fear for me around those games.

That's that's looking at as a as a pundit maybe more than as an Irish person and a fan.

Um but I think we're right in it.

I think the the level of intelligence in the group between the playing group
