And the coaching group i has never can never be underestimated.
And I wouldn't say that about huge amounts of rugby squads over the last fifteen, twenty years.
There there's a there's there's a brightness and there's uh an ability to adapt um and and surprise elements and I think Andy Farrell's selection qualities, like you look at the likes of Billy
coming out of nowhere and then landing.
He did something very similar with um including Jerry Kerr uh who's just come down um uh into into Irish setups too.
You know what I mean?
He doesn't Farrell doesn't seem to select on reputation.
And so hearing someone like Paul saying what he's saying like the hairs of my next time
standing up there hearing a young player talk about something with such drive and honesty.
Like this he's he's willing as a coach to pick that.
I think we go back to the time of myself and Brian, it was and this he would admit it, it was probably harder to get out of the Irish squad than it was at times to get into it.
It was it was twenty five, thirty names there for about seven years, regardless of what they did uh off the field, regardless of what they did domestically in
Now they were there on merit 'cause they were talented.
But I think that that's something that gives me a lot of hope.

There's been a rate of change within all his Irish teams in the last six, seven years that by the end of one season the team can look and feel very different to how it started.
So I think we're going through a little bit of a lull, but I don't think that's any harm.
We've peaked for about twenty years, right in the middle of the World Cup cycles, on road, and now we're not quite peaking, which hopefully bodes
