We holiday together.

We did so much together as sisters.

I was kind of trying to figure out what it was.

Lisa was really starting to find herself.

She was getting on great in her line of work.

She had made some lovely friends.

She was 24, but she was really getting so mature within herself.

She was really growing up.

And I could see it the week before, that just confidence that was coming inside of her and that she just had a way about her, like kind of calm wisdom or something.

You know, she was older than her 24 years.

That's what it felt like.

and I recognize that and I look back now and see that he was obviously recognizing that so I have since learned that controlling behavior does not necessarily start at the beginning of a relationship it can actually be quite fine at the beginning of a relationship because they're in the honeymoon stage and they're wrapped up in each other but actually what can start to happen is when the other person starts to pull away and become more independent the control gets stronger even though they were planning a wedding and everything else I think his grip got tighter

And I started to see less of her as a result of that, but so did everybody else.

I don't believe there was physical abuse.

I think she would have been able to kind of understand that.

When we have victims of coercive control, they're usually the last to know they're being controlled.

He'd waited a few hours, then he went to a petrol station.

I believe he got a notebook and a pen and drink and cigarettes.

I was meant to go out with them.

You know, she had made up a room for me and she said, you know, you're welcome to stay with us.
