Feedback from the resolution survey reinforces that to an extent, and some responding to the survey were indicating that they felt that allegations weren't properly explored.
There's concerns about the limited time to file evidence and the limited investigation that goes on into cases.
But I do think that also does need to be balanced with the increasing recognition that

much better than they have been in the past.
Rightly so.
And also the children are recognised as victims as well.
And that's y if a parent is a victim, the child is also a victim.
The
Survey from resolution also noted for victim survivors that they felt that actually having the proceedings concluded more swiftly.
meant that it reduced ongoing stress for them and also the exposure that litigation abuse can bring.
So I think, you know, there are positives and there are some things that maybe need to be tweaked.
With regards to speed, I think a lot of people feel that there's a system wide push towards speed and efficiency.
And part of that is to reduce backlogs and there's a lot of pressure on judges to reduce cases early.
So it's clear why there's been a move towards a front loaded way of dealing with things.
The resolution survey, again, lots of people who responded felt that there wasn't sufficient scrutiny as a result of that speed.
I think there needs to be a balance between those two things when the courts are approaching these matters.
Recognising that domestic abuse is a reality and how we best deal with that is definitely a challenge.
