That point was just basically sitting empty and furnished.
My family and I had come over the summer.
And set it all up after that big move fell apart.
So
We have this beautiful apartment just waiting, you know, we're paying rent on it.
I can't sublet it.
And so we're like, let's go and have a retreat.
So
we decided that that's what we wanted to do and we wanted to do some business planning, some spiritual work.
We wanted to do some of our own special things together.
We had decided to do a week in Lisbon, then take a road trip down to the south of Park, Portugal in the Al Algarve.
And then drive over to Spain to visit another mutual friend who had just moved to Spain for a few days and then drive back.
So two weeks total.
On paper
That idea sounded amazing like a dream trip.
But I want to give you the full context.
I had just come out of the most stressful periods of my entire life.
That summer that we decided to move to Portugal and we sold our family home.
Um, in the very last minutes, two weeks before we were supposed to move as a family, that fell apart because we couldn't get our visas.
