Yeah, absolutely.
Thanks, Kate.
And thanks, Owen, for having me.
I'm very excited to be here.
So about me, I am a workplace educator and teach individuals, teams and organisations about the principles of positive psychology so they can drive their engagement, performance and, of
I have launched my own practice, having previously been in the financial services industry for 10 years.
And I'm currently spending a lot of my time actually helping people try and endure the challenges and overcome the struggles that have come about as a result of the global pandemic.
Good question.
Thanks, Owen.
So for me, I started to explore I guess my own leadership.
I was trying to explore how I could be a better leader and how I could actually engage and ensure that my team was performing at the optimum level.
And at the time, I was sort of searching and doing my own research into what was out there.
And I sort of came across this field called positive psychology, which was all about trying to drive employee engagement and performance.
And so I started to do a bit more research and started to uncover, you know, the ways that positive psychology was being used in our schools here in Australia and also in some of our sporting codes as well, like the AFL and the NRL.
So I started to try some of the practices that it was talking about and started to see some of those results.
So for me, you know, what was next was, well, I need to go and learn more about this.
So I undertook a professional certificate in positive psychology a couple of years ago and really just fell more and more in love with the field and then decided to embark on the master's last year, which I did full time at Melbourne University as well.
Yeah, absolutely.
And obviously this is a question that I'm asked quite a lot and have been over the past few months.
So really what I think is most important for our wellbeing or certainly what we know is that, you know, relationships are the number one contributing factor to our wellbeing.
