And that's really where the field of positive psychology sits or where it focuses.
So if we think about traditional psychology, you know, this is where, you know,
it is all about sort of treating and helping cure mental illness.
Whereas positive psychology looks at how, you know, you can improve and focus on, you know, things like engagement, performance, relationships, meaning, positive emotions and mental and physical health.
So it's sort of picked up an area that was neglected by traditional psychology.
So the background to psychology was that it was meant to do three things, cure mental illness, improve normal lives and identify and nurture talent.
But unfortunately, after World War Two, you know, those two areas became neglected.
So positive psychology as a field was really only born, you know, around 20 years ago.
And that's where it's looked to actually focus on these two other aspects.
So I guess, you know, in answer to your question around why did I choose one of the other, it was more about, you know, where my focus was around, you know, the engagement and performance of my team.
My pleasure.
It's been lots of fun.
Thank you for having me.
