You know, so much of what's happening right now is out of our control.

And so really where we should be, you know, spending our time, our effort and our energy is on those factors that we can control.

So the focus here should be on the inner circle, which is what we term our circle of influence.

And these are all the things that we have control over.

So these will be things like our thoughts, our mindset, our ability to exercise, you know, our humour, being able to perform random acts of kindness and so forth.

So there's actually so much that sits within our circle of influence, which is where we should be spending our time and our effort and our energy.

But unfortunately, what tends to happen is that our thoughts get taken over by a lot of things that are actually outside of our control.

So if we think about the times that we're currently living in, these are things like the supply of toilet paper.

So really, a lot of people were sort of up in arms about the fact that they might not have toilet paper.

However, this was something that was actually out of our control.

And also what I find is that a lot of people are, you know, they get so concerned by others' behaviour.

You know, you see someone walking down the street without a mask or you see someone doing the wrong thing.

And that can be a real concern to us and for obvious reasons and for right reasons.

But again, we have no control over that person's behaviour.

So there's actually no point in stressing about it.

And the same can be said for our future, other natural disasters.

Again, these are all things that really we shouldn't be focusing on because they're actually out of our ability to influence.

So that's what we talk about when we talk about these two circles.

There's one that's the circle of influence and then there's the other that's sort of outside of our control.
