You know, they're astute people.

So that is for them to decide.

That's probably a bit of an easier way to put it.

So two days later on the Friday, the jury come back and they return a not guilty verdict on murder, but they do find Timothy Lewis Moore guilty of manslaughter.

Yeah, so the prosecution and defence both touch on manslaughter as an alternative in their closings, but they don't really spend much time on it.

The focus is really on that murder charge.

And the judge also tells the jury that they would only consider manslaughter if they find Timothy Lou Small not guilty of murder.

And just to clarify, manslaughter in this case is by unlawful and dangerous act.

as opposed to the other option in Victoria, which is manslaughter by criminal or gross negligence.

In this case, the verdict means that Timothy Loosemore carried out an act or acts that caused Marie Vermont's death.

It was conscious, voluntary and deliberate, and the acts were unlawful and dangerous.

That's right.

So the main difference in murder is proving that there was the intention to kill or really seriously injure the person.

That's right.

There's quite a few holes that sort of get picked up.

One of them we touched on was the knives with no forensic material being able to be found from them.

There's also the fact that Timothy Lewis Moore's phone was never recovered.

I believe Marie Vermont's phone was also not recovered.

So what missing pieces could have been found from those?
