On my garage roof, I put in a water system that collects the rainwater that flushes my second toilet.

to preserve our water coming into our house, to reduce the usage that way.

And as I say, there's loads of other people out there that can save money and save water by doing certain things to do that'll make it more economic.

Well, you see, Daniel, if you do that, you take a pensioner that's coming out with quite a substantial salary from a pension, he's going to be laughing all the way to the bank.

I'm now 85.

I, as I say, we're feeling the pressure at the cost of living and everything.

And then look at trying, if they're popping out the water and we end up with different companies selling it like they do with the electricity, we're going down bog land because it's going to destroy.

The whole system is going to be destroyed.

And if they privatise it, they'll have the big salaries and the water system will be on the burden of the people of Ireland.

Let me bring in Clare as well.

The idea that people are using water like that.

I grew up in a time when we used to carry a bucket of water half a mile from an open well.

So I know the value of water.

And so does my wife.

So we're trying to conserve water.

But my God, if they do what they've done to the bin system, what they've done to the electric system, it's not going to solve the leaks and it's not going to solve...

saving water because people would be riding on the backs of the people of Ireland and there'd be big profits.
