I'm a national security reporter who writes about war and weapons.

And my first six were written in the past tense and,

And these two books, Nuclear War a Scenario and Biological War a Scenario, look at the future based on hypothetical Pentagon war games.

And yes, they are terrifying.

But, you know, I say that right in the author's note, in the beginning, it ends in dystopia.

But at the same time, you can look at the book as a cautionary tale.

Everyone I interviewed had an opinion about COVID, specifically about the lab leak at Wuhan.

But I left it out of the book for a very particular reason, because I wanted readers to be able to come to their own conclusions, whatever their preconceptions may be.

And I do think people...

think and look differently at COVID after they read the book.

That's the feedback I've gotten so far.

The book just published yesterday.
