When I interviewed for this place, they ran out of ink when they got my place fitting for me.
You know, when you look into, and often this happens in this work, when you, do you know, I just know what it's like when you haven't showered.
I know what it's like to sit at the back of the train or the bus and away from people.
Tell us, what is it like?
What is it like to not shower, to be β you're constantly in the shadows.
The world is around you.
So if you wake up, as I did, at the doorstep β I used to pretend, so I used to sleep in front of apartments that were carpeted and stairwells, and I'd sit there at nighttime and late at night.
You're very on the outside.
People would come up and I had a story, always got a story of why I was there.
This is similar, you know, I didn't make up a story.
I'm just waiting for a friend to lock my keys out.
And then as soon as they open up the door and they go inside and they look at you weird, then you sort of go back to sleep again, right?
Waking up in the morning, what's it like?
You're aware of the sounds like the street sweepers, people getting up, kettles are going, TV goes on, but it's not your world.
