And unfortunately for him, I mean, even if he goes on to have like a lights out final two months here, he can only increase his earnings so much through our next year because his platform is $3 million. matched

So if anything, he actually looks like a real extension candidate to me just because he doesn't stand to do that well in arbitration. matched

So there's less incentive for him to play it out year to year. matched

So I do wonder if the Blue Jays matched

come to a post lockout likely uh and say hey let's bake in a couple of decent like arb salaries for you and let's talk about buying out some free agent years on the end and if that looks like a four-year extension or you know four years with like an option or with some escalators what what have you in there i think that's something that i could see that it's the jose barrios model right you trade a first round pick and another decent prospect for the matched

promising starter from another organization and you extend him because that just makes it a lot more worthwhile and it gives you that cost certainty going forward and obviously it makes sense for the player as well if you can particularly in a situation like Soriano's so I do wonder if that's going to be something that happens going forward here. matched

It's wild the home run issues that he's had this year. matched
