If there is a salary floor going forward for MLB teams, it's kind of funny.
The Blue Jays might be in a really advantageous position where there's the Pirates and the Marlins and the Guardians of the World who all of a sudden need to take on salary or even just artificial salary in the form of, hey,
We'll trade you Anthony Santander and a bunch of money.
We'll pay down the deal for you.
You get the contract on your books, so you get to artificially move up above that floor, even though we're paying the way, and you send us a prospect in return.
