here and there is inconsistent he threw a few good ones you know spiked a few ultimately like Shane Bieber this isn't a guy who you're waiting for him to be throwing 95 96 like he needs his slider to be on and him to be locating it like where he needs it to be uh spin has always been like his best weapon and his best ability to get hitters out um and in 2020 when he won a Cy Young the spin was really consistent and the location command of it was really really good

Yeah, I think that soon, and not for this outing, but soon your focus is going to turn to how do we put Spencer Miles in the best possible position for 2027.

What's best from a workload standpoint, building that innings base, just giving him a good platform to hopefully be competing for a rotation job next spring and being a part of your starting staff.

So I think for this one, you just let him go out and

compete and kind of manage it just depending on what you're seeing in terms of stuff and recovery command all those things but then if this season continues going the way that it's going in August and September you're going to be making some more long-term decisions with Spencer Miles and that could look a lot different than what things have looked like to this point

and they're still kind of figuring it out.

Like just in terms of the severity, there's some hope that it's not too severe, but anytime you're getting up into the shoulder, uh, that's problematic, especially for a guy coming off of Tommy John surgery.

Um, just a lot of, you know, it's possible he's compensating for, you know, the rehab from it.

Yeah, so we'll see.

But yeah, you kind of have to scratch him off the starting pitching depth chart for a bit because he's totally shut down.

And then Max Scherzer, three corner zone shots in the thumb.

There's three joints in the thumb.

So I assume he had one shot in each thumb, or excuse me, in each joint.

And he's, I mean, I think he was off a mound on the weekend.

So we'll see how that, yeah, we'll see how that went.

But...

Max Scherzer, I mean, very likely his last season, and he's looking to win a championship.

And you're probably not going to do that in Toronto.
