Yeah, I think we can put off Bieber for a bit because he's basically like entering the midway point of spring training.
This is essentially a spring training buildup that he's going through.
And Max Scherzer was very sure to remind us of the difference between a ramp up and a speed up yesterday in a typically intense Max Scherzer interaction yesterday.
I mean, the guy's been on the IL for, I don't know, a month now and hasn't had anything to get too fired up about.
But he brought the heat, as he does, in our brief exchange with him.
ramping up and building up so yeah i i wouldn't be surprised if he had like three more outings if not even four like i don't think he has to he's got until close to the end of the month so i think the blue jays are really going to take their time there cease might be one and done with buffalo like he hasn't had too much time off so he could go right into like four or five innings with the bisons and on thursday and if that goes well like his next outing after that
um early next week or mid next week would be with the blue jays so i think the blue jays are in uh no like they're they're they're not going to be slow playing it with cease i don't think cease wants to slow play it i don't think anybody wants to slow play this so cease i'm sure he'll get back quickly scherzer's the one that's like kind of in the middle where it's like let's see how these 60 pitches go with buffalo on friday let's see how he feels if
after throwing 60 if his next one is like 75 would the Blue Jays want that to be in the majors or would that not be enough length for them to throw him in the majors would they say yeah we'll let you do one more like in the minors let's see how he feels let's see how it goes let's see what the volume and workload looks like and let's also see what the Blue Jays needs are at the time but I don't think that they're going to be forcing Scherzer back into the picture quite like they will be forcing Cease back into the picture if he looks good on Thursday.
I understand that Spencer Miles had a hiccup his last time out, and I think that was to be expected.
He wasn't just going to be allowing zero runs every outing for the rest of the season.
Eventually, a team was going to get to him, or he just wasn't going to quite have his command, or he was going to get bad-bipped, or something was going to happen.
But I still think that just based off of the form that we saw from Scherzer earlier this season, and based off the fact that he's coming off of multiple injuries this
And he's had quarter zone shots in the forearm and the thumb.
And I think you want to just be very deliberate with him coming back.
If you get Cease back into the rotation, looking like Dylan Cease, or 90% of Dylan Cease, I'm okay with going forward with Gosman, Cease, Corbin, and Savage, and a Miles...
