There's a whole section in this report on scams, which I think is pretty extraordinary.
And this year, in order to combat scam activity, we saw the US Treasury Department
levy sanctions against Prince Group, which is a Cambodian based scam network that was stealing billions of dollars from U.S.
persons and people around the world.
So what we should be doing and are in large part doing or starting to do today is use every national security tool we have to go after the bad actors to let the lawful kind of ecosystem, the large lawful crypto ecosystem grow.
Look, I think probably the most common scam typology that we've seen is what has become known as pig butchering, which essentially is a scam in which a scammer meets a victim, whether it's on a text message or social media.
We get these every day now, right?
It's like, hey, how you doing?
And ultimately it grows into a relationship and it results in, hey, there's this cryptocurrency investment that you should do with me.
Ultimately, we've seen $35 billion in cryptocurrency fraud and schemes in 2025.
And, you know, it's easy to put a number on that, right?
But at the end of the day, this is the loss of life savings by so many Americans and people all over the world.
And what we're really seeing is a scam epidemic globally.
And we have got to use absolutely every tool that we have to go after these scam networks, right?
These highly organized criminal networks that are engaged in this type of activity.
And, you know, I mean, $35 billion is a lot.
We're talking about $100 billion, right, over the last three years.
And that number is wildly underreported.
Conventional wisdom is basically only about 15% of victims of scams and fraud report.
Some are embarrassed.
