You know, every day I have victims of scams reach out to me and to TRM and we don't do recovery.
We work with law enforcement who ultimately will work with victims.
But it's it's an absolute epidemic and it's affecting everyone in every demographic.
So the idea of pig butchering is a scammer develops a relationship with a victim, as I mentioned, reaching out via social media or on Telegram or even a text messages.
But then what they'll eventually do is ultimately that conversation will maybe be romance and
But it'll eventually default to something about cryptocurrency or, hey, I've made a lot of money or I bought a new car.
And the victim ultimately says, oh, wow, how did you do that?
It says, I have a really great investment.
So the victim sends some funds, oftentimes cryptocurrency, to the scammer.
And the scammer will ultimately send back larger returns.
to show, hey, this works.
We're making money.
You're gonna make millions.
And then ultimately, the victim sends more and more funds.
It's a terrible, terrible term, but I think it's powerful in that you're fattening the pig, essentially, right?
You're waiting, you're waiting, you're waiting until they send everything.
and then you slaughter or butcher the victim.
And it's just always so important to note that these are not one-off scammers.
