It is not meant to just support facilities bottom line.

And in fact, only 15% of the funding can be used for provider payments.

It's really meant to transform and improve the entire system in the long run.

I can go through some of the big themes.

So one is workforce training, recruitment, and retention.

Another one is mobile and at-home care.

So, you know, what that might mean is

paying a company that makes mobile units, you know, that transforms a bus into a medical facility, you pay them to help a facility start such a program.

At-home care would be like community paramedics visiting people at home.

Another big theme is tech, whether it's telehealth or remote monitoring, so like wearables or devices people use to monitor their health at home.

And then another big theme is alternative payment models.

So instead of getting paid based on how many patients or treatments you do, more based on the quality of care and outcomes.

So what's important to know is that rural facilities are very reliant on Medicaid.

Rural people have a higher enrollment rate in Medicaid than urban patients.

And if they lose coverage, what tends to happen is, you know, then you don't go to your preventative care appointments, right?

You don't go to your annual physical.

If you have a problem that seems small, you don't go.

But when you avoid that kind of care,

then you can eventually develop something serious and then you have to go to the emergency.

Well, that is worse for the patient.
