is that when we build something with AI, it can be a huge benefit to our work, but it also pulls value out.
So this means that, you know, you still have to account for people who check that work, who fixes it when it breaks because it will, who is monitoring to make sure that that automation or that output is what it says it should be.
So there's a give and take here.
And the reality of building with such a novel technology in 2026 is that it rarely works as planned unless you build it with intention, with a plan, with guardrails, and with proper governance, as well as a budget afforded to be able to monitor and oversee it.
So these are all things most of us don't have time for as we balance all of our other responsibilities and try not to get replaced.
And there's a heavier layer to all of this that we don't often talk openly enough about.
We're being asked to learn new tools and change how we work.
All while watching friends and colleagues get laid off around us.
And that's a really strange and disorienting context in which to be told to just experiment and have fun with AI, right?
And the secret is that in a year, simply adopting AI won't be enough to protect us because that metric of what AI adoption or AI fluency is will continue to change as well as the industry standard changes.
So what will matter is whether you can demonstrate demonstrable, measurable value, real outcomes, not just that you're using the tools.
The workplace in 2027 is going to look very different from today.
We are all going to need to learn how to manage AI the way a good manager manages a team of interns.
You have to set direction, check the work, know when to step in yourself.
