And what he talks about is the fact that consciousness kind of has human consciousness, which is awareness of being aware. matched

Awareness of, you know, to be conscious, it has to be like something to be Dave Rubin. matched

That's consciousness, right? matched

But it has four levels. matched

There's sentience that a plant has. matched

There's feelings that your golden retriever has. matched

There's awareness of others that we all have. matched

And there's awareness of self that only human beings have. matched

And it's that highest level of consciousness that's the biggest problem. matched

It's the most mysterious. matched

It gives us dominance over what we do, but it makes us utterly miserable. matched

And so what we need to do is to go backwards in consciousness, to be looking out at the world and not in on ourselves. matched

But we have a tendency to want to do that. matched
