And Oscar was really
really confident and assured in what he was doing and the moments that needed the comedy and the reasons he was doing it you know i think some people have compared this to adolescence and it's sort of light on young men and what i think are what i think that arthur about that does is uh is it really puts you in in the shoes of these people you're not really observing it from the outside you're thrust into the uh
the sort of brains and trauma of these young men.
And it doesn't paint anyone as being good or bad.
It's very, it's just giving you this story and it's up to us as an audience to kind of do with, do with it as we want.
Um, I think possibly at first when I was first working with a dialect coach on the accent, I was like, God, cause it's very easy to go too far with a Texas accent and it become a kind of become a parody, become a kind of Western.
Uh, but as soon as I got there and as soon as I spent some more time in it with the character, figuring him out, it felt, it, it,
strangely came quite naturally to me.
And I think that was, again, just going back to being actually filming in Texas.
And the writing, having great writing to support us and having time before we started shooting, rehearsing with Jaden and Oscar and Ricky and everyone.
And Jaden's, I think, phenomenal in this role.
And in a lot of ways, I think Balthazar was...
was much harder for him to get under the skin because he is so directionless because he's searches.
So he sort of floats through existence, Solomon's, uh, stakes and, uh, and complexity.
And it was all there.
You could see it.
It was on the page.
I said, I think Jaden had to work quite a lot harder to figure out why Balthazar was doing what he did.
And I, I think he was.
incredible in this role and having him to work alongside was uh it made my job a lot easier well it's the most engaging film uh asa your performance is great jayden martell uh is great in it what what's coming up next for you i uh what's coming up next i have a tv series coming out on uh on disney in the uk
