How can they give that in a way of not dismiss, like coming across as dismissive?

Yeah, so I think a sort of communication is a great tool to communicate anything that's a bit tricky.

It sounds like, and I really liked that first step around when you state the facts, keeping it neutral, like keeping the emotions out just makes it sound really clean.

Exactly.
