Secretary of State Madeleine Albright say to me, you would be a songbird in the United States Senate.
And then her best friend, Melanne Verveer, said she would be a caged bird in the United States Senate.
And I don't know.
So it's like, where does God want me?
Where can I be useful?
And it's like God to know and me to find out.
I'm just going to keep showing up.
with her like what was it like growing up in the judge family well it's a story of of two halves of life right and when my precious mommy died we had a beautiful tender intimate holy relationship that was full of um care and radiance and she lit up when I walked in the room and she called me she'd say there's my darling there's my baby there's my girl and I loved her very much you know and she
wasn't there for me when I was growing up.
That's why I say it's a story of two halves of life.
And, you know, the writing that I'm doing is so much about what it means to have unmet needs, whether it's a need for safety, protection.
guidance you know repair when something bad happens or when something good that is supposed to happen does not this is also an ingredient of harm that is often invisible and thus not talked about but this deprivation of care and goodness which is what's happening with the cuts to UNFPA my mom was this person who both didn't do what a mom should and then when bad things happen she didn't do
what a mom should because she just wasn't present physically or emotionally.
And then we got a redo in the second half.
I came into recovery and
i don't know what you might say if god had a word with her she wised up or whatever we just met you know in my in my 40s in a very precious way and so the writing that i'm doing is so much about how i did that you know and how whether it's related to the conversation we had earlier about forgiveness and transformative justice but how do i meet my own needs today how do i provision myself with the tenderness and care
Yeah, there's a big difference between privacy and secrecy, right?
We're not secret about the underlying causes.
But every person has the right to their privacy, which is very corely related to dignity.
