And leaving religion out of it, you know, and completely leaving religion out of it.
We no longer say grace when we see food.
We take out our phone and take a picture.
And if it's a nice picture, we post it on Instagram or we send it to our friends.
It's become a tool of how successful you are.
You know, I'm in this really posh place.
I'm eating this fancy stuff.
Or even if you're on street food, you know, because you've had the ability to travel to Mali or some exotic... It's a signifier.
It tells you who... So the food is part of that storytelling.
That, you know, I'm not just in this cool place.
This is what I'm eating.
And we've become consumers.
We see it as our right.
The fact that eating is a privilege...
A privilege that not everybody has.
Not in the past, even today.
That hunger is in our midst.
So unlike a lot of other chefs, they use food to show off, to impress people.
To make art.
