So, again, anthropomorphizing.
But it's.
useful, I think, because these same kinds of processes, there's elements of that that happen across all systems.

So you've got those two levels.
And then you have also the systemic level, which you were referring to earlier, where you have this sort of broader system that's monitoring the body for regions where maybe something isn't right.
And it's a really good backup system for those other systems that we already talked about.
And it also plays a
plays a broader role in just, you know, sort of like looking at if there's bacteria or viruses that shouldn't be there.
But even like the cell intrinsic system, then the neighborhood systems, they're not just monitoring sort of for these sort of internal things in the cell.
They're also sort of monitoring for viruses and stuff like that too.
There's overlap in terms of some of these mechanisms that are there just to sort of protect us from things that might be trying to hijack us or undermine the broader evolutionary interests of the whole organism.
Yeah.
Just as an aside, I just have to point out, if there is a species in which a zombie apocalypse is going on, it's the Tasmanian devils.
They're biting each other's faces and spreading contagious cancer.
There is a hypothesis that, you know, that the cancer actually is affecting aspects of their behavior, including also their reproductive behavior.
So I don't know this literature that well, but there's definitely some interest in it.
And I have a grad student who's intrigued by this as well.
