So today we're going to talk about the three nominees for Surgeon General and why their nominations haven't been a cinch even in a Republican-controlled Senate, in a Republican-controlled committee.

So in November of 2024, after he was elected to his second term, Donald Trump nominated Jeanette Neshwat to be Surgeon General.
His statement on Dr. Neshwat's nomination describes her as, quote, a proud graduate of the University of Arkansas School for Medical Sciences.
At the time of her nomination, she was serving as the medical director for CityMD in New York, which is a chain of urgent care clinics.
