It's time for nominee number two, Casey Means.

Mike, what have you heard about Casey Means?
She is a graduate of Stanford University, both undergrad and medical school.
She runs a wellness startup called Levels and she practices quote unquote functional medicine, which is essentially like a rebrand of what in the 90s would have been called alternative medicine.
It's medicine, but this time it's functional.
So she has kind of two origin stories coming into Maha world.
The first is her residency.
After completing medical school at Stanford, Casey Means took on a five year residency at Oregon Health and Science University here in Portland.
So she takes on this residency at OHSU specializing in head and neck surgery.
Okay.
But as she moves through her residency, she says she became disillusioned with a system that put so much pressure and strain on doctors, a system that was always sort of intervening after things went wrong and not to like help them go right to begin with.

And in a system with such a pernicious profit motive.
Her story is that she was in a state of great...

Right.
And like if you are aiming at, as she is, a structural critique, then you also need to have a structural solution.
And she doesn't fucking have that.
