Our margins are super thin because we're a tech platform.
We're not a security company.
Security companies right now in off-duty are absolutely raping customers with what they're charging.
Sometimes they can get up to 100% markup.
If they're paying the cops $60 an hour to be there, they're charging $120 to $130 an hour to the business, which is just insane.
Number one, I think the cops need to raise and the businesses need to break.
And we do typically both.
So we're actually in our market, what we're actually typically paying the officers more than they're making working other places.
Of course, that's different if it's a CBA negotiation.
In that case, we're paying exactly what that officer is making.
And then 99% of the time, we're actually saving the businesses money coming to us versus going to some other security company.
Honestly, the biggest mistake I made in my career was overestimating the competency of local government.
uh we spent years so you know we started in washington right just as kind of a brokerage business right i knew the construction companies that needed officers for traffic control because of luke's relationships we could text someone inside of every local pd hey we got a job tomorrow we need three guys they'd send them and we would broker like really manually brokering that relationship
When we decided to launch the app, our initial platform was designed for exactly what you're saying.
We're going to go into the administration, whether it's the mayor, the city manager, or the chief, or the union or association head, right?
I mean, there's all these different angles you can try to attack to try and get them to disrupt their existing system.
It doesn't work, right?
I mean, we spent years.
We talked to representatives from 9,000 different jurisdictions, right?
We had three people adopt the platform.
