We knew that intellectually, but I just wasn't, I didn't think that, you know, he was clearly as much of an issue as he has been.
And I wasn't accounted for how good Mews is.
Like, you know that he's good.
We knew that he did good work with the U.S.
National Developmental Team.
Like, he had a ton of success there.
There was a ton to like about the hire.
But also like you had to come into it with some kind of trepidation because guys who coached that team in the past have flopped, frankly, as like as AHL coaches and NHL coaches.
So I wasn't totally sold on him.
I don't think I totally anticipated, you know, what a poor fit Sullivan was for the roster.
Clearly was wrong about that.
And I didn't think Eric Carlson was going to come out and be the best player on a team with Sidney Crosby on it.
Those are the three big things.
I thought the old coach was better than he was.
I thought the new coach wasn't as good as he is.
And I thought the days of Carlson being a legit difference maker were in the rear view.
I was wrong about all three.
I think they're probably the best five-on-five team out of that team.
out of that group on those days.
