I don't think you'd call him an injury concern.
He has had injuries in his career, and he's 5'8", 190 pounds.
That, to me, just doesn't feel like everyone's talking about the Packer way in Miami now because they have the GM and obviously the head coach.
I don't think it's going in the right direction to say, hey, you know what?
We are going to commit a shitload of resource to the running back position, even though we don't really feel like we are in a place to compete defensively or even just roster overall.
first of all, I think that Ty Simpson is probably worth that, right?
I think that it's been, you know, a lot of the conversation about Ty Simpson versus Fernando Mendoza, you know, and, uh, you know, Ty Simpson was the projected number one overall pick the first nine weeks of the season of the second half.
Simpson suffered all these injuries, his play completely collapsed.
And Fernando Mendoza rose to one of the most accomplished college football seasons in history of the sport.
And I think that's where like a lot of this is split, but I,
I think a lot of the second half of that season, you can kind of chalk up to injuries and you can buy that self in.
I think the reason to feel like Mendoza is the obvious decision at one over Simpson and why Simpson probably isn't worth a top 10 or top 20 pick potentially is because you have such a small sample size to evaluate what he's done.
Think about how much our opinions change in the NFL on quarterbacks with Darnold and like the college level, like it can go from Garrett Nussmeier's the future no man overall pick.
So like, I don't even know if he's going to be there in round three or round four.
Like he might just be like a day two, day three pick.
And I think
when you were evaluating Simpson, yes, it is easy to say the first eight to nine weeks of the season, he looked like this, but like we've only seen eight to nine weeks and we know our opinions on quarterbacks can change in two games.
It can change in a half.
And you just haven't seen a lot from Simpson or enough from Simpson to be really confident at all.
in your evaluation of him.
