look, this agency is holding a lot of people.
Not all of those detentions are even lawful under the current law, as broken as it is.
And so ICE has been reporting on this.
It's possible.
I think that the agency is probably doing it because it represents a larger number of cases.
I also think they're doing it because in the interest of the administration, they want to say, look at these activist judges.
We're not releasing people because we want to.
activist judges are making us, whatever.
But it does show that legal activism and, well, it's not even legal activism.
That's unfair.
Just actually basic due process, just getting a real federal judge to look at a case often has the advantage of actually finding that ICE is breaking the law.
Yeah, they sure are.
So this is what we in the biz call third country removals.
There's a lot of third country removals still happening.
And that just means if someone can't be deported to the country where they have citizenship or where they were born, the government does have an option or does have a way to just find any other country that will take them and deport them there.
It's not always used.
Just when a person can't be deported to their home country, you know, Kilmer Abrego Garcia, for instance, has agreed for months and months to be deported to his home country.
And DHS keeps saying, no, we don't want to do that.
We want to deport you to a third country, let's say in the middle of Africa, basically as a kind of retaliation and punishment.
So and so that's absolutely happening.
