So it's a tricky business about what's at stake in this hearing.

And also for everyone, for Republicans who might be a bit skeptical of some of Todd Blanch's actions since he took over as acting attorney general, and for Democrats, they will also be considering what the potential alternatives are.

Who is Donald Trump going to nominate instead to fill this position?

Is it going to be someone who is even more loyal to the president than Todd Blanch to some seems to be?

Is it going to be someone who has even less of a kind of career history of filling traditional roles?

Todd Blanch was at one point a prosecutor in the Justice Department who earned praise from some of his colleagues.

It's in more recent times after he represented the president and especially after he

has pursued some things that seem to be very closely aligned with Donald Trump's personal agenda, that he's faced more criticism about his ties and his closeness to Donald Trump.

Yes, Donald Trump has said that this address is going to be about, quote, free and fair elections.

We don't know a whole lot.

We still have more to learn.

I suppose that's why the address is coming.

But this could involve the Justice Department because, you know, Donald Trump has made allegations for years that election results that he doesn't like, in particular, the 2020 election results in which Joe Biden won elections.

the presidency that began in 2021, he has said that those elections were rigged.

He's made those accusations without providing any proof that there was widespread fraud that could have overturned the election results.

In that election in particular, Joe Biden won the Electoral College by winning several

swing states, not just one or two.

And so it isn't new to hear from the president allegations that aren't backed up by proof, you know, in the face of lots of audits and reviews that took place, especially around the 2020 election and lawsuits.
