It's so bittersweet.
I think I've just been keeping busy so I don't have to process that it's the last one.
And I'm sure all of a sudden one day it's just going to hit me like a freight train.
But...
It's weird.
It's so weird to think back to writing the first book and having no idea if anybody was even going to read it, anything.
I truly was just doing that just to check something off the bucket list because I've always wanted to publish a book.
And then now here we are three years later and my entire life is completely different.
And it's all thanks to this book series.
So that's...
No, which then came back to bite me a few times as I was working on it, of course, because I kind of wrote myself into certain things.
But no, Alive and Well's, originally, I was like, this is just going to be a standalone because, again, I just wanted to say that I published something.
And then as I could see, it was getting traction when I was looking for some arc readers.
Because, of course, I was like, if I'm going to self-publish this, I'm going to give it a fair go.
I'm going to put my all into this.
And if it goes nowhere, then whatever.
I can say I did it.
And so then I started thinking about books two and three.
And then it was only ever going to be three books.
But then Colt, one of the side characters, just wouldn't leave my brain.
