But they don't kind of reflect on what it could mean to their experience.

I would just say that I know that some part, I mean, many people start the test late and they think that, oh, it's just a bunch of essays and I just have to fill the form.

How hard can a short answer be?

So I would say that just how important your GMAT is, so is the rest of the application or, in fact, more important.
