I had because I'm doing another fellowship and it was about five years ago.
I hit an emotional bottom and it was my son.
My son's ignoring me.
I'm not important.
How dare him?
I'm his mom.
And I listened to this tape and it was a psychologist and it was the other fellowship.
And he was talking about his daughter and he said his daughter told him, Dad, you're not in my plot.
And this guy said, how arrogant of me, and I heard that and it clicked, how arrogant of me to think I'm the, you know, the be all for, you know, for my son, for everybody that he doesn't get to have a wife and a life and, you know, and I really saw my arrogance and this was five years ago, you know.
and and then my whole shift by seeing that my whole recovery shifted and it's like he's not doing it to you barb he's just doing it but there's that arrogance they're doing it to me you know i'm so important and i'm not that important you know when you hear somebody when you come in the rooms and you hear somebody down there laughing and you think they're talking about me oh dude you know it's shit like that that was my whole recovery when you see him whispering
And my sponsor said, you ain't that important, Barb.
And then I get my feelings hurt about that.
What?
I'm not that important?
You know, you can't make me happy.
And it's okay.
Yeah, it's okay to just be in the plot.
I don't have to be the main character.
I can be in it, you know, once in a while.
And, you know, and be a part of and not have to be, you know, the center of attention.
