mean, you look at every bit of nature, everything in nature, starting with an amoeba.
you know, protoplasm a cell has a boundary, has membrane, has a start and a stop to that thing.
And I think we forget in relationships that we are extending ourselves in many ways and we're porous and open in many ways to relational stuff that affects our emotions, our thinking, our physiology, uh on every level.
And if we're not careful about what we are letting in and what we're also putting out.
then it can get kind of messy and it does.
It it gets messy.
So many healthy boundary descriptions are um a healthy fence like in a neighborhood.
Some some neighborhoods have fences around the houses and you know what your property is, what you're responsible for.
And your neighbor is responsible for what they're responsible for.
And the fence kind of delineates where their yard ends and you're not expected to mow their lawn.
And you know, if they have rats in their yard, you hope they don't get in your yard, or if they're dumping garbage that's in their yard, not over the fence into your yard.
And and um the other part of the fence idea is a boundary is a fence, but it has a gate, a gate to let thing good things in.
And keep bad things out.
You know, you you make decisions.
So boundaries are protective, not
Punitive.
Well, um, you know, again, each couple is individual, each individual is individual, but um something that's pretty typical is that a neurodiverse person
really might need some chill time, some d you know, decr decompression time when they come home at the end of the day.
And that could be anywhere from fifteen minutes to an hour and fifteen minutes of
D decompression zoning, uh video gaming.
