uh just sleep like whatever they need to do meditative time to kind of recharge, refocus, um, you know, recalibrate so they can enter into more relational interaction in a healthy way and be actually available versus reactive.
Right.
Now, many neurotypical people are been alone all day or they've been in their world and they're looking forward to coming home and connecting.
Because they're energized by let's talk about everything.
How did you feel?
And what happened?
Let's problem solve.
And they or I've been alone with the kids all day and now you need to help me and blah blah.
And this is one of the top
collisions that I see that it you know, one of the principles I work with with a couple is what I call grace and space, meaning back off.
Let the other person get a breath.
Figure out what you need and whether the other is the right person to give it to you when you think you need it or not, or how else can you get these needs met?
And what is healthy for both of you, so it's win win.
And expectations are defined and
space is allowed, um, not on a oh I I need an hour and a half or I need to go away for three weeks because that's not a boundary.
That's a reaction.
Boundaries are are just like speed limits.
Okay.
If I drive down the street, I'm looking for a sign that tells me how how fast should I be going?
And you know, if I'm going forty five because it looks like a forty five mile an hour road, but now I'm being pulled over by a cop because it was a twenty five, I'm like, Well, where was the speed limit?
